Toyota scholarship for Vietnamese young music talent 2009

Ha Noi, 22/12/2009 – Today, Toyota Vietnam Foundation (TVF) along with other founders, including Toyota Motor Vietnam (TMV), Ministry of Education and Training, and Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism officially announces to grant Toyota Scholarship for Vietnamese Young Music Talents 2009 for outstanding Vietnamese students specializing in musical majors from Art universities, which operate directly under Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism.

 

Along with Toyota Scholarship for students’ science, this is the first year Toyota Scholarship for Vietnamese Young Music Talents is implemented. With the purposes of more contributing to the development of Vietnam’s music as well as encourage and award excellent Vietnamese young music talents, Toyota Scholarship for Vietnamese Young Music Talents will grant 90 scholarships worth VND 3million per each for excellent musical students chosen from 5 music schools all over the country.

 

Awarding ceremony of Toyota Scholarship for Vietnamese Young Music Talents 2009 will be held in 3 regions in turn: the North, the South, and the Centre:

Starting from this year, the program is expected to be hold every year. Especially, The budget for the program is from the proceeds of the two concert programs which are sponsored by Toyota Motor Vietnam, Toyota Classics and Toyota Concert Tour Vietnam.

 

Speech at the ceremony, Mr. Akito Tachibana – Chairman of Toyota Vietnam Foundation, President of Toyota Motor Vietnam confirmed: “I do hope that, the program “Toyota Scholarship for Vietnamese Young Music Talents” will become a meaningfull activity to encourage studying spirit of students in music majors. Along with the sponsor of Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, and the active support of Press and Media, we will try to make this program become more popular with larger scale.”

 

During more than 14 years of operation and development, with the commitment of being good citizen in the local community, TMV has had positive contributions to Vietnam’s society. Especially, TMV always focuses to promote the education, training and human resources development. Since the establishment, TMV have contributed more than USD 13 million for social contribution activities in which nearly USD 2 million was directed to educational activities of Vietnam.

1. Toyota Vietnam Foundation (TVF):

 

TVF was established in October 2005 by the co-operation of Toyota Motor Vietnam, Ministry of Education and Training, and Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism with the initial fund of 4 million US dollars. TVF focuses on supporting socio-cultural exchange and development, especially supporting to improve education and training quality and the development of human resource in Vietnam, including four main activities:

    * “Monozukuri course” – Know-how of success in manufacturing and business to share the key experiences of mastering the successes of Toyota


    * “Traffic Safety Education Program” to raise the awareness of traffic safety manner for nearly 5 million of 1st grade pupils in primary schools for 3 continuous school- years (2005 - 2009)


    * “Toyota Concert” to help Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra upgrade to international level


    * “Toyota Scholarship” for excellent students in universities of technology nationwide.

2. Toyota Scholarship

Toyota Vietnam Foundation (TVF) along with other founders, including Toyota Motor Vietnam (TMV), Ministry of Education and Training, and Ministry of Culture and Information (now is Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism) officially establish Toyota Scholarship.

 

To encourage more study spirit and student’s science, Toyota scholarship 2009 awarded to outstanding students of engineering environment and student groups of studied science in universities in over the country. In the framework of Toyota Scholarship 2009, besides finance aid, the Toyota Scholarship provides the students the opportunity for an internships at TMV’s plant or attendance at the Monozukuri course sponsored by TMV to give engineering students a taste of real-world engineering job and bring them knowledge on the manufacturing and business.

 

Together with the awarding ceremony of the Toyota Scholarship, TMV awards engines for universities to be used for training and teaching of universities to enhance education quality for students.

 

Since 1997, after 13 years of implementation, Toyota Scholarship Program has really encouraged study and research spirit of students in universities and contributes to develop human resources for industry in general and Vietnam automobile industry in particular. So far, there have been more than 1.243 scholarships awarded to outstanding students of universities in over country with the total amount of nearly 3 billions of VND.
