Hanoi, April 27th, 2010 - Toyota Motor Vietnam (TMV) would like to proudly announce that we will continue to be the main sponsor for Vietnam Robot Contest 2010 (Robocon 2010). This year, the final round will be held in Dak Lak Sport Center, Buon Ma Thuot city from May 10th to 16th, 2010 with the participation of 32 best teams selected from qualifying rounds throughout 3 areas over the country: North, South and Central.
This year, the theme of Robocon is “Robo – Pharaohs built pyramids”. Based on the idea of a time machine to the pyramid builders of Egypt into the technical classrooms to build in turn the part of third pyramids. So, to complete the “pyramid”, all teams have to implement without any adhesive material among the cubics. To get the success, they must be quick, precise and well coordinated teams.
The Final round of Robocon 2010 will select a champion team to attend the International Asian-Pacific Robocon that will be held in Cairo - Epypt in September, 2010.
By the main sponsorship for this year, this is the 9th consecutive year that TMV sponsors for the Robocon program. It can be said that the attraction of the contest has been shown so clearly by enthusiastic response of the young people and participation increase from 17 teams in 2002 to 256 teams in 2010 coming from 57 universities and colleagues nation wide.
Addressing at the press conference, Mrs. Dang Phan Thu Huong, Vice President of TMV said “Through Robocon program, the biggest goal which we want to reach towards is to create an usefull and exciting playground for young students, future engineers of Vietnam and enhance their enthusiam and creativeness in science and technology, promote the spirit of emulation learning and comradeship as well as ability to apply skills into practice. With this desire, we do hope the future of Vietnam will be brighter and have good position on the international market.”
Moreover, with the desire to contribution more to Vietnam, TMV has always had positive activities to society, especially focussing on education-training promotion and human resources development such as: Toyota Technical Education Program – TTEP, Toyota and I learn Traffic Safety – TSEP, Monozukuri course, Toyota Scholarship…
