Ho Chi Minh city, 8th April 2010 – Toyota Motor Vietnam Co., Ltd. (TMV) announces proudly the introduction of the New Vios 2010 and a newest grade to the Vios line-up - Vios C at the White Palace Convention Center. With a slogan of “Red Personality”, the new Vios 2010 will represent a new image with progressive design, cool beauty and sporty look. New Vios 2010 will be displayed and go on sales officially at all TMV’s sales networks nationwide from 22 April 2010.
The name of Vios is a coined term derived from the Latin word VIO, which mean “Go”. The tone of the word is not only simple, straight, and catchy but also presents an image of freshness and young. It’s the name that perfectly represents a new sedan that will bring more joys and happiness for the owners in everyday life.
The Vios was originally developed for the Asian region and achieves the targeted high ratings and has acquired a broad customer’s base that spans from the young to the elderly. Since the first launch in Asia, Vios has received overwhelming response from our customers.
Following the path of success like in other Asian countries, Vios was first introduced in Aug 2003 in Vietnam and made a spectacular debut that allowed it to achieve the leading position in the compact mid sedan segment with accumulated sales of nearly 18,000 units, occupying nearly 50% market share in its segment.
Following the success of Vios 2007 and pursue the perfection and to accommodate with the changing of lifestyle, TMV will introduce new upgraded Vios version for Vios 1.5G (A/T), Vios 1.5E and Vios Limo to create the new image of cool and sporty for this model. Also, to meet up the unceasing demand and diversify the customer’s choice, TMV will introduce one more grade of the new Vios called Vios 1.5C (M/T) for entry private customers with attractive price.
Especially, the New Vios 2010 brings more choice for customers with impressive colors: there are 2 new colors that are available for Vios G 1.5 AT & Vios E 1.5 MT are Light Blue Mica Metallic (8S9) & Super Red (3PO) besides current color Silver Metallic. The new version Vios C will be painted Black Mica Metallic (209)
Cool and Sporty Exterior Design
With new progressive design, the New Vios reflects a stylish beauty in combination with a sporty look.
Regarding to the front design, a newly designed radiator grille with strong chromium plated cross-arm made more sizeable sense for car to have more confident and boastful beside this stylish and youthful car version owner. The new radiator grille has two horizontal bars instead of one as in the current model. Especially, radiator grille width has been increased to produce a distinctive feel. Besides, the V-zone at the front and the lines along the side are kept unchanged that makes the car opens up a more sporty look versus its last version, create a premium and stylish face.
Silver plated front fog lamp (Vios G & E) made the precious and luxurious point, manifested for Toyota’s desire to a youthful and elegant car version. Outer mirror which was folded up/opened control by a button with large mirror-surface made the most comfort and better visibility for turning and parking. Trafficator which was integrated on outer mirror (Vios G & E) not only made the secure feeling for driver but also elevated the modern and luxurious manner for car.
From rear view, newly designed rear combination lamps are adopted to emphasize a stereoscopic look. The rear combination lamp positioned on the rear corner with 3 – dimensional depth & a new molding process for the trunk opening above the bumper create a dynamic look. In addition, the rear license garnish (Vios G & E) width has been increased to create a wide feel & enhance the cool image.
The Car Tail with lamp cluster which has impressed spontaneously horizontal stripes for more absorbed by the active and sporty style of car. Noticeably, 15 inches wheel has the sporty design with 6 plump-faces double-spoke casts in order to elevate your youthful and active style.
Comfort Interior Design
With the aim to achieving the improvement in equipment, creating an advanced quality and premium feeling, the interior of the new Vios is newly designed based on the theme of “Simple is cool”.
For more elated every journey with luxury and convenience Vios 1.5G which has 3-spoke steering wheel new design covered with luxurious leather and integrated sound control buttons. Besides, shining chromium plated gearbox face and hand-brake button made the interior space more polished and flowery, to be manifested the non-stop creative of manufacture. Durable chromium plated Car door handles gave you the comfortable and easy to use feeling.
High quality leather seat and leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio switch are newly designed and still is used in Vios 1.5G that brings up the luxury for the interior and better comfort with minimized operation for the driver. Looking to the dashboard, customers will acquire the unique and precise in the design of new Vios. The new audio system design with functions of AM/FM, MP3, WMA, CD, 6 speaker (Vios G) with advanced technology of DSP (Digital Sound Processor) enable customers to enjoy realistic and vibrant sound.
New Vios 2010 inherits all comfort equipments of previous Vios. With the air conditional control dial that minimizes the operation for the driver, air conditioning performance of New Vios is outstanding with an instant effect. The seat slide adjustable range and seat lift adjustable range for the driver seat, flat floor, superior space for rear leg room and cup-holder in the rear seat center armrest (Vios G) are benefits that customers can get when enjoying times with new Vios. The new Vios is still equipped with 1.5 liter engine 16 valves DOHC with VVT-i offers top level engine performance, excellent acceleration, better fuel efficiency, higher durability, especially pollution reduction and maintenance cost.
New Vios 1.5G with 4A automatic gearbox gave young drivers, especially women drivers a mild, secure and initiative performance in all case. 4.9m minimum radius turn helped to increase the flexible movement capacity on the street as well as when parking.
