Hanoi, October 28, 2009 – Today, Toyota Motor Vietnam (TMV) officially introduces Toyota Classics 2009. This is the 12th Toyota Classics Concert has been held in Vietnam by Toyota Motor Vietnam and Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) in cooperation with the Arts Performance Agency – Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Toyota Classic 2009 will be held in in Ho Chi Minh City Theatre on November 7, 2009.
This year, Toyota honorably introduces the world - famous Prague Chamber Orchestra coming from the Czech Republic - a city with long time musical tradition. This is one of the most prestigious orchestras of European classical music history and is well-known all over the world for its music quintessence. Conducted by talented and masterly conductor Charles Olivieri Munroe and excellent soprano Marie Fajtová, Prague Chamber Orchestra will bring the sublimate time with the professional and precise performance of masterpieces from great composers Mozart, Beethoven, Rossini and Dvořák. Especially, a young Vietnamese soprano Nguyen Bich Thuy with high voice and extractor wining the first price in international singing competition held in Bangkok 2002 and included among the “Vietnam’s Top Ten Young People of the Year” in 2003, will appear the second time at this year’s concert night,
This year, to bring opportunity for all music lovers in over the country to enjoy an impressive concert night, Toyota Classics 2009 will be broadcasted lively outside HCM City Theatre as well as on VTC1 and VTC2 - Vietnam Cable Digital Television at 20:00 November 7, 2009.
Since 1990, Toyota Classics tours have been held annually not only to create opportunity and enhance culture and music exchanges among different countries but also being determination to contribute to social development by donating all proceeds to local society. Moreover, through Toyota Classics, Toyota shows the wish to become model citizen contributing positively to nations in which it operates. So far, the Toyota Classics has attracted hundred thousands of audiences from nearly 140 concerts in the Asia-Pacific Ocean region. Inthe year of 20th, the Toyota Classics 2009 has been taken place from 23 Oct. to 9 November in: Bangkok (Thailand), Bandar Seri Begawan (Brunei), Taipei (Taiwan), Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) and Seoul (Korea).
The Toyota Classics has been organized in Vietnam since 1997, under the support and cooperation of Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Toyota concert nights have been held successfully and become one of the most expected events of the year, which is not also to present Toyota’s effort in contribution to culture development of Vietnam but creating opportunity for vocal music students and teachers to study experiences in performance of world-famous orchestra also.

We have granted the total proceeds worth VND 1.6 billion of 11th previous Toyota Classics to support for cultural activities and charity in Vietnam. Especially, since this year TMV has established and implemented the Toyota Scholarship for Vietnamese Young Music Talents to encourage them to improve the skills and hard study to become good artists in the future. The whole ticket proceeds of the Toyota Classics 2009 will be used for this meaningful scholarship program” Mr. Akito Tachiba – President of TMV says.
TOYOTA SCHOLARSHIP FOR VIETNAMESE YOUNG MUSIC TALENTS
Also today, Toyota Motor Vietnam and MOCST will cooperate to sign the memorandum of “Toyota Scholarship for Vietnamese Young Music Talents”.
“Toyota Scholarship For Vietnamese Young Music Talents” is a very new scholarship program for excellent students of musical education centres all over the country under the management of MOCST. This program is initiated by TMV and Toyota Vietnam Foundation, cooperated with MOCST implemeted annually from this year to encourage and glory the most excellent Vietnamese talents. 90 scholarships (VND 3,000,000 per each) worth VND 270,000,000 will be granted annually for young musical talents chosen from 5 musical universities: National Musical Institute, Hue Musical College, Ho Chi Minh Musical College, Tay Bac Musical College, Viet Bac Musical College. All the ticket proceeds from 2 musical program: Toyota Concert Tour and Toyota Classics will be used for this scholarship program.
