HCM, February 03, 2010 – Toyota Motor Vietnam officially announces to widen the Toyota Technical Education Program for Body and Paint Repair (BP – TTEP) in PhuLamEconomy & TechnologyCollege, Ho Chi Minh City. The awarding ceremony is held at Phu Lam Economy and TechnologyCollege to award high technology equipped for body and paint repair training.
The first phase of Technical Education program in Phu Lam Economy and TechnologyCollege will be implemented from 2010 with total supported money of USD 80,000 for 3 years (2010-2012). In the first year, TMV will support modern machines and equipment for training, ensuring training’s quality with value of USD 50,000 including: equipment for body and paint repair (Altis body, a car aligner, 02 MIG welder, 03 washer welder, 04 door panels and 08 front fenders, a Toyota standard tools set many and hand tools for Body repair) and and for paint repair category: 02 vacuum cleaner, tools to be used for surface preparation, air spray guns and infrared dryer...)
T-TEP is one of the Toyota activities to support for automobile vocational colleges to level up skillful technicians. So far, TTEP has been conducted by Toyota in more than 50 countries, supporting nearly 430 vocational colleges and institutes in all over the world.
In Vietnam, Toyota has started the T-TEP since 2000. During 10 years of implementation, TMV has introduced and implemented successfully Toyota Technical Education Program-TTEP in 6 vocation centre of 5 universities and colleges of technology nationwide, including: Hanoi College of Communication and Transportation, Ho Chi Minh University of Technical Education, Hanoi University of Industry, Cao Thang College of Technology- HCMC and now Phu Lam Economy and TechnologyCollege, HCM
Under this program, annually, there are about 1,500 student trained with modern equipments via the support of TMV. So far, more than 250 students are selected to Toyota’s after sale service network nation-wide. Total amount of money supported for the program has reached to about US$500,000 and 4 cars for training purpose including 01 Hiace and 3 Camry up to date.
Addressing at the ceremony, Mr. Akito Tachibana- TMV’s president said “We do believe that with effort of Phu Lam Economy and TechnologyCollege as well as supporting of the Ministry of Education and Training and local administration, TMV will positively contribute and increase quality of training and develop skillful technicians, contribute to Vietnam’s automobile industry”
During more than 14 years of operation and development, with the commitment of being good citizen in the local community, TMV has had positive contributions to Vietnam’s society in many fields such as education, culture, sports, traffic safety and environment. Especially, TMV always focuses on promoting education activities, training and human resources development. Since the establishment, TMV has contributed more than US$ 13 millions for social contribution activities and nearly US$ 1.2 billion to state budget.

2. TMV’s achievements in 2009
- New record sales: Continues improvement the value of Toyota product, with precept “Customer first, high product quality and perfect after sales service”, TMV always keeps to be a leader of auto industry in Vietnam. In 2009, economic situation was difficult due to financial crisis over the World but TVM still sold well with 30,110 units, took 25,2% market share, 23% higher than 2008, this was because customers trust Toyota brand. Especially, Innova has been in the market 4 years and keep the best sales 8,475 units, contribute to the total sales to 45,700 units. Corolla Altis is not less, 6,468 units/year 171% higher than last year. Next, Vios was sold 5,141 units increasing 65%. Besides that, even just launched in Feb 2009 Foturner was sold 5,878 units.
- Leading in customer service: In 2009, Toyota service center received more than 515,000 turns of units, increased 18% comparing with 2008. Moreover, TMV also open quick maintenance service, quick repair frame and paint in the North and repair crash on frame during 4 hours in order to save time and best service for customer. In order to serve customer better, TMV also expanses a store in the South and 4 Toyota dealers in many provinces including Toyota Phu My Hung HCM, Toyota Can Tho, Toyoyta HaDong and Toyota AnSuong HCM and now total Toyota dealers is 23.
- To maintain export: Despite many difficulties due to the global financial crisis, export turnover of TMV auto parts in 2009 is approximately $20 million, bringing the total export value to over $ 110 million (since July,2004). Currently, these products are exported to countries in the IMV Toyota global project. Besides using the IMV products worldwide, the export products of TMV are also used for Yaris, Vios, Corolla and Hiace. There are 13 areas of 10 countries participate in global IMV project are: Thailand (four areas), Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, India, Argentina, South Africa, Venezuela, Taiwan, Pakistan. |
