“The biggest picture about environment” a drawing festival for the youth

A great event for the youth - a festival to draw “the biggest picture about environment” – will be held on Sunday, 24th November, 2009 by Go Green Club (GGC) at Hanoi University of Technology’s Centre of Sports and Culture, 42 Ta Quang Buu Str. for the purpose of attracting the youth’s attention to environment protection and call for action “joint hands for a green Vietnam”.
This activity is one part of the master Go Green initiated by Toyota Moto Viet Nam(TMV) in coordination with Ministry of Education & Training (MOET) and General Department of Environment (GDE).
“The Biggest picture about environment” is inspired by the idea “Reality- Solution- Prospect”. Taking roots from the general view on the actual situation of environmental pollution Human Beings are facing, practical actions and solutions will be put forward in order to overcome bad effects on environment at present and direct forward to a better future when people will live in an environment full of the green nature. With U shape, two sides of the painting will be facts and solutions to sea and forest space, urban and rural space respectively. The interference which is the centre of the painting will be shown the beautiful prospect which people will achieve in the future after changing their behavior and actions to environment. With the length of 112 meters and the height of 1.5 meters, the painting will break the current Guinness record of the painting about environment with the length of 100 meters and the height of 1.4 meters drawn at Nha Trang Festival. The picture is inspired and sketched out by Young Design Club including lecturers and excellent students of Hanoi College of Industrial Fine Arts.
The representatives of Vietnam Guinness Organization, The Central Vietnam Student Union and Toyota Motor Vietnam will participate in festival. Estimatedly, the event will attract more than 400 students and volunteers from 20 environment clubs and universities/ colleges in Hanoi. Acrylic and toile will be used for the painting with 20 parts. Each part will drawn by 20 people divided into groups of 5 people.
As one part of series of practical and meaningful activities in Go Green program, “the Biggest picture about Environment” festival will contribute to raising the public awareness of environmental protection in Vietnam, help people to be aware of how serious current environmental situation is and accordingly change behavior to direct forward to Green Vietnam.
