In order to realize its long-term commitment as well as to strengthen its development motive, Toyota Motor Vietnam (TMV) has continuously made great efforts to increase its localization ratio. With the investment capital of over US$ 89 million, we have built up the modern lines of 3 processes of the production (Welding, Painting and Assembly). In Mar 2003, we completed the perfect car production process with 4 lines including Stamping,  Welding, Painting and Assembly. Non stop at this, since Aug 2008, the first-ever Frame Shop has been put into operation with the purpose to enhance the localization ratio and the competitiveness for Innova with auto welding and painting lines.

Furthermore, TMV has produced many in-house parts like Frame, Assy, Exhaust Pipe, Press Parts… Currently, we continuously study to produce more parts locally to enhance the localization as well as to contribute to the development of the Vietnam automobile industry.

Achievements….

Thanks to its Stamping shop, Frame Shop and Auto-Parts Export Center as well as its increasing supplier network, TMV proud to be the automobile manufacturer leading in localization ratio that come up to 19% to 37% depending on each model (according to ASEAN value evaluation method), in which Innova have the highest localization rate of 37%. Currently, TMV has produced 6 models including: Vios, Corolla, Camry, Innova, Fortuner & Hiace. All these models have high local content. In the future, with increased output, TMV also has a plan to improve the localization ratio for its models.

Calling for foreign investment and looking for cooperation….

In addition, to promote supporting industry, TMV has made great efforts to call for the spare parts suppliers under Toyota Group investing in Vietnam such as Denso, Toyota Boshoku Ha Noi, Toyota Boshoku Hai Phong, Toyota Gosei Hai Phong to produce  and export of auto parts to the world. Currently, TMV unceasingly study and look for the domestic suppliers to increase our localization ratio in particular and to contribute to the development of the VN Automobile Industry in general.
